William Szipocs, 79, passed away on September 24, 2026, in Gainesville, Florida. He was born on May 12, 1947, in Paterson, New Jersey, to Alexander and Lillian Szipocs.

William was a loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was known as an overall great guy who was kind, caring, and loved by the people around him.

His family was very important to him, and he treasured the time he spent with those he loved.

William had many things he enjoyed throughout his life. He loved motorcycles and classic cars, enjoyed playing poker, and especially loved getting out on the dance floor. He had a way of enjoying the simple things in life and making memories along the way.

William owned and operated Country Floor Covering in Vernon, New Jersey, for over 40 years. He was also a member of The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Chiefland.

William will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the love of those who will carry his memory in their hearts.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Lillian Szipocs; and his siblings, Alexander Szipocs III, Charlotte Smyth and Christopher Szipocs.

He is survived by his loving wife Ellen Marie Szipocs; his children, Cheryl Ann Dahl (James), Bill Szipocs Jr. (Sherri), Kim Antola (Tommy) and George A. Berger Jr.; his sister, Cynthia Rose Breen; his grandchildren, Alicia (Trent) Myers, Casey (Jose) Ponce, Eric Dahl, Stephanie (Kyle) Gunderman, Joshua Szipocs and Bryel Antola; his legacy will continue to live on with his great grandchildren, Ameila and Roman Gunderman, and Penelope, Serena, Maverick and Aaron Ponce; his former wife Rose Szipocs; and his 4 legged best friend, Brodie.
