Thomas Brown, 67, a beloved member of the Bell community, passed away on March 10, 2024 in Gainesville, FL. Leaving a legacy that will forever be cherished. Born in 1957 to Edward and Helen Brown in Gainesville, Thomas was a proud graduate of Bell High School, class of 1975.
 
 Thomas dedicated his life to serving others as a school bus driver for the Gilchrist County school district and later as a CDL trainer for the state. His commitment to ensuring the safety of students on their way to school was unmatched, earning him the respect and gratitude of all who knew him. Additionally, Thomas stepped up to serve as Mayor of Bell for a brief but impactful period.
 
 Beyond his professional career, Thomas had numerous passions that brought him joy. He could often be found cheering on Florida Gator Football or tending to his garden. Crafting was another one of his talents, evident in the beautiful creations he shared with friends and family. However, nothing brought Thomas more happiness than spending time with his beloved dog, Sassy.
 
 Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Helen Brown, and siblings – Edward Brown Jr., Elbert Charles Brown, Otis Truman Brown, and Virginia Brown.
 
 He is survived by his brothers SJ Brown (Lillian), Lester Brown, Larry Brown (Madaline), as well as sisters Mary Lou Rain, Frances Sanders, and Ann Schofield. His memory will also live on through many nieces and nephews whom he adored.
 
 Thomas Brown's kindness, sense of duty, and unwavering love for his family will remain etched in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing that his legacy will endure through the lives he touched so deeply.
 
A funeral to celebrate Thomas' life will be held on Thursday, March 21, at 11:00 A.M at Mount Horeb Baptist Church in High Springs. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00 am at the church. He will be laid to rest at Mount Horeb Cemetery following the service.
