Rose W. Brown, lovingly known as Ma Brown, passed away on January 28, 2024, in Trenton, Florida. She was born on September 15, 1930, in Portsmouth, Virginia. Rose was a sweet and kind-hearted woman who touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and gentle demeanor.

Rose's journey began in Portsmouth, where she attended and graduated from Cradock High School.

Family meant everything to Rose. She found immense joy in the roles of mother and grandmother. Her daughter Debbi (Danny) Hodge and son Bernard Brown (Melva) will forever carry the memory of her unconditional love within their hearts. Rose's grandchildren were especially dear to her; Rosie (Bruce) Donnelly, Bernie (Lisa) Brown, Robert (Yvonne) Brown, and Duane Brown were fortunate enough to be showered with Rose's affectionate guidance throughout their lives.

Rose was blessed with the presence of seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable happiness into her world. She adored watching them grow and treasured every moment spent together.

In addition to her beloved human family members, Rose loved her cats. She cherished her feline companions who provided comfort and companionship during her later years.

Rose is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Fitzhugh L. Brown Jr. 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 2 nephews, a grandaughter and her son. 

Rose will be remembered as a compassionate woman who always put the needs of others before her own. Her unwavering love, patience, and selflessness continue to inspire all who knew her. Although she has left this earthly realm, her spirit will live on through countless cherished memories.

The family would like to thank the angels of Ayers Health & Rehab and Haven Hospice for all the care and support. Especially with the love shown to Rose over the last 7 years. You will never know how much she loved you. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to The Activities Department of Ayers Health and Rehab and Haven Hospice.
