Robert "Bob" Scott

Jan 22, 1948 — Jul 9, 2026

Robert “Bob” Scott, born January 22, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Bob’s vibrant presence and unwavering work ethic touched all who had the honor of knowing him.

Bob’s life was marked by hard work, service to his country, and cherished moments with family. He graduated from Deland High School and continued his studies at Daytona Beach Community College before embarking on a path of distinguished service. For six years, he served in the Navy, demonstrating commitment and courage—a foundation that shaped much of his life’s resolve and character.

Following his military service, Bob found his calling in auto body repair, devoting most of his professional years to the industry. His meticulous attention to detail and pride in a job well done defined his career, and his colleagues knew him as both a hard worker and an endless source of playful sarcasm and quick wit. He had an uncanny knack for starting projects—sometimes finishing them—always with a mischievous glint in his eye and a story ready to share.

Family formed the heart of Bob’s world. He shared 45 years of loving partnership with his wife, Barbara Scott, building a home filled with laughter, learning, and mutual respect. Together, they raised four children: Jennifer (Scotty) Douglas, Jason (Heather) Bickell, David (Jennifer) Scott, and Amy (Scott) Templeton, each carrying forward his values of dedication and kindness. Bob’s devotion extended to his role as a grandfather; Brandon, Jordan, Harmony, Liberty, Destiny, Hanna, Isabel, Taylor, Joshua, and Amber will forever remember the special moments spent at his side—be it rebuilding cars, reading together, or joining him in a nap during a Nascar race.

Bob’s capacity to give reached into his community as well. He volunteered selflessly at the Lake City VA and Ayers Rehab in Trenton, touching lives and offering help wherever it was needed. As a brother and uncle, he leaves behind his sister, Patricia Duval, along with cherished memories of his late parents, Andrew and Priscilla Scott, his beloved Aunt Millie, and cousin Carolyn.

Those who spent time with Bob knew him as someone who could lift any room, and whose hard-working spirit inspired those around him. He was infamous for beginning projects—sometimes leaving them unfinished—leaving a legacy not just in what he accomplished, but in the light-hearted laughter and stories he shared.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM at 10300 SE 70th Ave, Trenton, Florida 32693, where all are welcome to remember and honor Bob’s remarkable journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Haven Hospice in Chiefland.

Robert “Bob” Scott’s legacy continues in the loving family he leaves behind, the friends whose lives he touched, and the indelible mark he made on his community. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who were privileged to know him.
