Minnie Lee

Wayfair Cemetery
Starts at 2:00 pm (Eastern time)
Minnie Lee Harper, 93, of Old Town, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026. She was born on April 2, 1933, in Cedar Key, Florida, to Chester and Lois Collins.
Born and raised in Cedar Key, Minnie experienced the heartbreaking loss of her mother as a young girl. In the years that followed, she found strength, guidance, and comfort in the close bond she shared with her father Chester. He taught her to love fishing, a pastime that became one of her greatest joys and remained a cherished connection to him throughout her life. She also loved to read and found great happiness in reading stories to her grandchildren. Among life's simple pleasures, few made Minnie smile more than a bowl of strawberry ice cream.
A devoted homemaker and faithful member of the Church of God in Cross City for more than a decade, Minnie was known for her loving heart, gentle spirit, and determination. Once she had made up her mind, there was little anyone could do to change it. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Woods (Robin) and Julia Hatch (Cleo); her grandchildren, Trussie, Tray, Justin, Elka, and Jessie; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will continue her legacy.
Minnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie Harper; her parents, Chester and Lois Collins; and her sisters, Martha Price and Lula O'Brien.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, strength, and love will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A graveside service to honor Minnie will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 2:00, at Wayfair Cemetery, Bell. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Watson-Milton Funeral Home. (352) 463-8888 www.WatsonMilton.com
