Mary Anne Klaiber

Mary Anne Kaiber, lovingly known as Mom, Grandma, and Ooma, passed away on May 26, 2026, in hospice care. She was born on November 11, 1940, in Lockport, New York.

Mary Anne grew up on a farm in Sherman, New York, and later lived in Wesleyan Village in Brooksville. She attended Sherman Central School and graduated in 1958. She then continued her education at the Pittsburgh Art Institute for two years.

Mary Anne was a woman of deep faith who devoted much of her life to church and mission work. A faithful member of Community Bible Church in Brooksville, Florida, she lived with a servant's heart and a gift for hospitality. She worked as a real estate broker and was also a talented seamstress, quilt maker, and cook. She was especially known for her fabulous apple pie and cookies, and for her remarkable ability to make a wonderful meal out of just about anything.

She will be remembered for her kind, loving, and generous spirit. Mary Anne always tried to find the good in everything and did her best to live in the image of Christ. She faithfully depended on Christ through life's hardships and gave Him all the credit for the blessings in her life. She truly sought to love as Christ loved.

Mary Anne found great joy in church, Bible studies, swimming, biking, game nights, sewing, quilt making, cooking, and music. She loved playing the piano and sang in the church choir for many years. More than anything, she cherished being a mother and grandmother. Her family was the center of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them and with friends.

She is survived by her children, Joel Reed (Sheila), Julie Reed (Roger), and Todd Reed; her sister, Hildegard Hughs; her grandchildren, Abbie Reed, Tessa Reed, Regan (Ryan) Randall, Jeff (Emerald) Reed, Janie (Kelby) Sanchez, Jessilyn Reed, Colbie Reed, and Tallon Reed; and her great-grandchildren, Stephen Reece, Ruby, Kason, Kellie, Remy, Dax, Kallor, and Allie. She is also lovingly remembered by many extended family members and friends, as well as her beloved cat, Zippy.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Reed; her parents, Kurt and Mary Bessel; and her brother, Kurt Bessel.

Mary Anne's life was marked by faith, love, warmth, and devotion to others. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, hospitality, and unwavering love for her family.
