Larry Donald Roberts, age 76, of Bell, FL, passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2024, at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville. Larry was born on November 21, 1947, in Branford, FL, to Festus and Imogene Roberts. He was a lifelong resident of Gilchrist County and a 1965 graduate of Bell High School. Larry joined the United States Air Force where he served 4 years before returning to Bell and starting a career with the Department of Transportation. After many years
with the DOT, Larry decided to take up farming. He farmed for many years before opening L&L Trucking which he owned and operated until his retirement. Larry loved being outdoors. He enjoyed everything in the woods, especially fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry is survived by his daughters, Stephanie (Joey) Holder of Trenton, Kelley (Tom) Paulling of Bell, and Ginger (Ronnie) Adams of Jonesville; his grandchildren, Dillon Paulling, Madison (James) Walsh, Corbin Holder, Presley Paulling, Brayden, Bryce, and Evan Adams; his brother, Wayne Roberts; many extended family members also survive.
A funeral to honor Larry’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 27, at 11:00 am at the Watson-Milton Funeral Home, Trenton. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, March 26, from 6-8:00 pm at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest, with military honors, at Midway Church of Christ Cemetery.
