Bell

Larry Michael Lindsey, Sr., age 71, of Bell, FL, passed away on October 8, 2022, at the North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville. Larry was born on November 19, 1950, in Gainesville, to Robert Lester Lindsey and Vera (Dey) Lindsey. He was a lifelong resident of Gilchrist County and the fourth generation to live on the family farm. Larry went to Trenton High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1968. While in school, he enjoyed playing football, earning the MVP award his senior season. This is also where he fell in love with livestock and showing animals at the fair. Once he graduated, Larry attended the University of Florida and double majored in Animal Science and Education. Returning home, he became a full-time cowboy. He loved being around cows, working them, buying them, and helping at the fair. He was at the livestock market 4 days a week and when he met the love of his life, Sabra, they had to marry on a Thursday night so they could have a long weekend and he wouldn’t miss a day at the market. Although being a cowboy was what he enjoyed, his family and friends were everything to him. He loved putting a smile on people’s faces and if he knew you, he gave you a nickname. He will be deeply missed. Larry is preceded in death by his father, and his great-nephew, Jon Gideon Suggs.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sabra Lindsey of Bell; his children, Amber (Josh Cole) Lindsey of Juno Beach, FL, Larissa Lindsey-Manders of Trenton, Jamie McKenzie of Fanning Springs, Brittany Lee of Trenton, and Larry Michael Lindsey, Jr (Hailie) of Trenton; his mother, Vera Lindsey of Trenton; grandchildren, Lowgan, Sarah, Braeden, Joshua, Jackson, Carsen, Lillianne, Molly, Austin, Riley, and Mila; his brother, Dale (Angie) Lindsey or Bell; his sister, Jeannine (Greg) Pfannschmidt of Bell; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

A visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, October 12, from 5-7 pm at the Suwannee River Fair. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 13, at 11:00 am at the Midway Church of Christ Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Watson-Milton Funeral Home, Trenton. 352-463-8888. www.WatsonMilton.com
