Joyce Ann Norton

Joyce Ann Norton, age 83, of Bell, FL, passed away at NFRMC in Gainesville on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. She was born on November 5, 1934 to the late Theodore and Adelaide Balz in Brooklyn, NY. In 1964 her husband had the opportunity to work with the Jackie Gleason Show so they moved their family to Miami, FL where they resided until moving to Bell in 1989. Joyce was more than a homemaker; she found herself managing a boatyard in Miami and then a cattle ranch in Bell. Somewhere along the way she flew around the world on the Concorde. She was happiest spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Chiefland, FL. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Walter "Wally" Norton and her son, James Walter Norton. She is survived by her daughter, Rene Louise Norton of Bell and her son, Walter Joseph "Joe" Norton also of Bell; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
