Joseph Mercer, a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and patriot, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on May 15, 1936, in Chadbourn, North Carolina, to parents Leon and Mary (Benton) Mercer. Joseph took great pride in his upbringing and his North Carolina roots.

His courage and quick thinking were highlighted during his military career when he saved two men, who remained forever grateful to him for his bravery. After the military, Joseph dedicated over 43 years of his life as the owner and operator of Suwannee River Break & Tire.
A man of faith, Joseph loved God with all his heart and served Him daily. His devotion was evident in every aspect of his life, guiding him through challenges and triumphs alike.
