John Stephen Mest

John Stephen Mest passed away, surrounded by the people he loved most, on August 3, 2025.

Born February 7, 1955, in Strykersville, NY, John was a butcher from a young age, as he was part of a large family of cattle haulers and butchers at Wm G Mest Packing Co. in Strykersville. He produced sausage products for people to enjoy. John and his wife, Mary Ellen, moved to Bell from Strykersville several years ago. John has 2 sons, Steven of Bell, and Aaron of Strykersville, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. John was number 6 of 10 children born to Bill and Mary Mest. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:00 am at Christ the Good Shepherd Mission church, 239 N US Highway 129, Bell FL 32619. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the church: Christ the Good Shepherd Building Fund as John was eager to help with growing the church and the church family.
