Ruby “Idell” Cox Harris Holder, age 99, of Newberry, FL died July 5, 2022, at Ayers after a long illness. Mrs. Holder was born December 5, 1922, in Bell, FL to Arthur Cox and Emily Bass Kinsey Cox. Mrs. Holder moved to Newberry to live with her sister’s family at a young age after her parents passed. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist of Newberry. In her lifetime, she worked as a mother, homemaker, and seamstress. She was known for her bright red hair and all the pumpkin rolls and rum cakes she made for family and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, GW Harris; second husband, Polie G. Holder; daughter, Patricia “Patsy” Harris Blake Swilley; sons, Ronald “Ronnie” Harris and Gerald “Buddy” Harris; a grandson, Chad Harris; her parents and her 5 siblings.
She was survived by her daughter-in-law Brenda Roberts Harris; grandsons, John Stanley Swilley and William and Robert Blake; grand-daughter-in-law, Angela Swilley; great-grandchildren, Samantha Swilley, Colby and Dillon Blake, and Fallon Harris.
