Obituary

Harvey Jordan Sr., age 87, passed away on October 24, 2026, at Lake Park Nursing Facility in Madison, Florida.

Harvey was born on November 19, 1938, in Dothan, Alabama. He grew up working on the farm and in the cotton fields. His parents instilled in him the importance of working hard, providing for his family, and helping others, values that remained with him throughout his life.

Harvey was a supervisor for many years at Florida Prestressed Concrete Company in Tampa, Florida. He had a gift for planning a job, bringing people together, and seeing it through to completion. He understood the importance of doing a job right and getting it done on time.

In 1978, Harvey moved his family from Tampa to Bell, Florida, where he lived for the next 48 years.

Hard work became a way of life for Harvey. Over the years, he picked fruit, sold watermelons, worked with calves, and did whatever needed to be done to support his family. Idleness simply was not in his nature.

He also enjoyed over the years working at different times with each of his sons, sharing with them his work ethic.

One of his sons described his dad as being "the backbone of the family that kept us all afloat." He carried a great deal of responsibility on his shoulders and worked faithfully to provide for those he loved.

Harvey frequently said, "You can do anything you set your mind to if you will work at it." In his later years, you could often find Harvey sitting in his man cave watching old westerns. He enjoyed the preaching and gospel music.

Harvey also enjoyed the simple things in life like good country cooking, boating, fishing, and vacationing in the mountains of Tennessee and Georgia with his family.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Bryant and Lillie Williams Jordan; six brothers and seven sisters; his wife of 69 years, Mary Sue Jordan; two sons, John Jordan and Kenny Jordan; and one granddaughter, Magon Jordan.

He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Land and her husband, Steve; three sons, Jeffrey Jordan and his wife, Rhonda; Timmy Jordan; and Harvey Jordan Jr.; his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends for visitation and viewing on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Watson Milton Funeral Home, 426 W Wade Street. Trenton, Florida 32693. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 at Townsend Cemetery 5581 NW 55th Ave. Bell, Florida 32619 The service will be officiated by Pastor Scott Campbell.
