Gene Felten

September 12, 1936 — February 21, 2026

Gene Felten, 89, passed away peacefully on February 2. 2026, in Trenton, Florida. He was born on September 12, 1936, in Covington, Kentucky, to Howard and Virginia Felten.

Gene will be remembered as a stubborn but also a loving man, a natural teacher and mentor, kind and protective of those he cared about. He was fiercely patriotic, proudly pro-military and a strong supporter of the Second Amendment.

Gene enlisted in the United States Army right out of high school, working on armor and serving two years in Korea. He earned the Parachutist Badge and the Good Conduct Medal and served with the 187th Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he proudly embraced his role as an airborne soldier.

A lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, Gene had been riding since the age of 11. He was also a master in stained glass art, creating beautiful works that reflected both his creativity and patience.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents and his sons, Howard Felten and Clay Felten.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Rebecca Felten; his children Becky Dean, Darlene Reed, and Debbie Heisel (Shawn); his sister Sherry Fowler; and his seven cherished grandchildren. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends.
