Ernest Wigglesworth

July 31, 1971 — February 4, 2026

Ernest Wigglesworth the III, lovingly known as “Bart,” passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2026, at the age of 54. Born on July 31, 1971, to Ernest Wigglesworth Jr. and Donna Lutz, Bart lived a life defined by faith, hard work, and unwavering love for his family.

Bart was a gifted handyman who could truly do it all. From electrical work to plumbing, welding to repairs of any kind, there was nothing he couldn’t fix. If something was broken, Bart not only had the tools — he had the knowledge and patience to make it right. More importantly, he never hesitated to stop what he was doing to help someone in need. His hands built and repaired many things, but his kindness and generosity built something even greater — a legacy of service and love.

A quiet man by nature, Bart found his greatest joy outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, embracing the peace and stillness of nature. Whether casting a line, sitting in a deer stand, or working with metal in his welding projects, he felt most at home under open skies. He was a devoted Christian whose faith guided his life and shaped the way he treated others — with compassion, humility, and grace.

Above all, Bart was a wonderful and devoted daddy. His children were the pride and joy of his life. He was caring, steady, and present — the kind of father who showed his love not only in words but in actions every single day. To know him was to know kindness. To love him was to be blessed.

Bart was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest Sr and Bertha Wigglesworth, and Thomas and Jean Hylton; his uncles, Robert Wigglesworth and Jimmy Hylton; and his stepfather, John Lutz.

He is survived by his beloved children, Victoria “Tori” Wigglesworth, John Paul Wigglesworth, and Brylee Remington Wigglesworth; his parents, Ernest Wigglesworth Jr. and Donna Lutz; and his siblings, Alex Wade Wigglesworth, Cynthia Collins, and Cathy Signor. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss his steady presence and generous heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Canvas Church in Alachua. The family invites everyone to join them following the service at Sonny’s BBQ in Alachua to share food, memories, and fellowship in honor of Bart’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that those wishing to help reach out regarding support for his children.

Bart’s life reminds us that the greatest measure of a man is not found in recognition, but in the quiet ways he shows up for others. His hands may be at rest, but the work he did in the lives of those who loved him will endure forever.
