Donald Earl Wallace, 83, of Fort White, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on January 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 22, 1942, in Atlanta, Georgia, Donald was the son of John Wallace and Mary “Kathleen” Wallace. He was raised with strong values of faith, hard work, and compassion that guided him throughout his life.
Donald was a kind and gentle man, known for his steady presence, quiet wisdom, and true servant’s heart. He never sought recognition or praise, yet his actions spoke louder than words. He believed in doing what was right, helping where he could, and offering forgiveness freely. His legacy of grace will live on in the hearts of all those he touched.
A hardworking and driven professional, Donald built a respected career as a commercial contractor and developer. In 1976, he founded DE Wallace Construction, proudly serving North Florida for decades. A fifth-generation builder, Donald continued a family tradition of craftsmanship and dedication, contributing to projects associated with the University of Florida campus. He took pride not only in what he built, but in how he built it—with integrity, fairness, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
Outside of work, Donald found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. He loved fishing and hunting, traveling, and staying busy with purposeful work. Whether on the water, in the woods, on the road, or on a job site, he was happiest when he was active, productive, and connected to the outdoors.
Donald was a proud member of the Free and Accepted Masons and the Shriners, organizations that reflected his lifelong commitment to service, brotherhood, and giving back to others.
Above all else, Donald was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He shared 42 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Terry Wallace, building a life grounded in love, loyalty, and perseverance. He was a steady and supportive father to his sons, Donald “Lon” Wallace (Henrietta) and Justin Wallace (Heather), leading by example and instilling values that will carry on through generations. One of his greatest joys was his grandson, Constantine Wallace, whose life will forever reflect the legacy of a loving and faithful grandfather.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, John Wallace and Mary “Kathleen” Wallace, and his brother, David Wallace. He is survived by his wife, sons, grandson, his brother Mark Wallace (Debbie), his sister Melody Shippers (Paul), and many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know him.
A funeral service to honor Donald’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Horeb Baptist Church. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service.
