Colleen Cooper Judah, a beloved wife, mother, and cherished “MaMa,” passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 15, 2026 at her home in Chiefland, Florida. She was 93 years old.
Colleen was born on December 28, 1932, in Bell, Florida, to Charlie and Susan Cooper. She was the youngest of eight children and was raised with strong values of faith, family, and service that guided her throughout her life.
She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chiefland and took great pride in being one of the first members of the Chiefland Ward. Colleen faithfully helped raise funds to ensure a church building was available for members of the faith in the Chiefland area, demonstrating her deep commitment and love for her church community.
Colleen dedicated 27 years of her life to education as a teacher at Chiefland Elementary School, where she became a pillar of the community. Her gentle, loving nature made her a treasured educator who helped countless students learn, grow, and succeed. After retiring, she devoted her time to her family and church, continuing to teach and serve others with her Christlike spirit.
An excellent cook, Colleen was especially known for her beloved banana pudding. She also had a remarkable talent for creating beautiful things with her hands. Her skills included crafting, painting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, and writing poetry. She found joy working outdoors with her plants and took great pride in making her home and yard a welcoming place for all.
Colleen was preceded in death by her husband, Kulhman Judah; her parents; and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Alan (Denise) Harrison; her stepchildren, John (Margaret) Judah, Gerald (Kelly) Judah, and Jane Judah; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Colleen will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, under the direction of Watson-Milton Funeral Home of Trenton
