Berlon James "BJ" Light, born on March 23, 1932, peacefully passed away in Gainesville, FL on May 2, 2024. He was born in Arab, AL. He lived a fulfilling life dedicated to his work as a plumber. BJ was also honored to serve his country in the Army from 1953 to 1954. Outside of his professional life, BJ enjoyed going to gospel sings, watching football, basketball, and westerns. He was a big Roll Tide fan. He was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church.

BJ Light leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Faye Light. He is also survived by his children Tonya Light (Jeffery Floyd), Ramona Light, Lorelai (Light of his life) Martha(Tim) Gross, John Oehlenschlaeger(Connie), Bruce Light, Michael Light(Sharon), as well as 7 grandchildren; Chris, Mandy, Stephanie, Shawn, Branden, Amanda M., and Lorelai and 7 great grandchildren and 2 grandpups Toby and Kane. He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Sue Parker, brother, John Douglas Light, and sister in law, Diane(Jimmy) Blume. 

 He is preceded in death by his mother Rosie Light, father Herman Light and brothers Hastel, Felton, Waylon, Johnny Cecil, LC, Stancil, Oscar; sister Orene. 

 A graveside service to commemorate BJ's life will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at New Hope Baptist Church, 4470 NW County Rd 236 in Bell, Florida. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Watson-Milton Funeral Home, Trenton, Fl. 352-463-8888 www.WatsonMilton.com
