Anthony Mendenhall

Anthony Mendenhall, age 41, a beloved father, son, brother, friend, and overall cherished soul, departed this world unexpectedly on July 14, 2025, in Fanning Springs, Florida. Born on June 23, 1984, in Birmingham, Alabama, Anthony graced lives with his gentle presence, a man whose spirit resonated with the rhythm of nature's heartbeat.

From the earliest days of his life, Anthony possessed a fierce love for nature. He was described as a “Reptile man” as he had a specific passion for snakes. While he often walked the path less traveled, a kind of loner wrapped in the embrace of the earth, Anthony's heart was bound to his family, who he fiercely adored and protected. He was the embodiment of love itself and was always there when someone needed him. Though life presented him with its share of challenges, Anthony pursued the simple yet profound desire to be loved. 

Anthony is preceded in death by his father, Delon Phillips; brothers, Corey Phillips and Joshua Little; uncles, Bud Divers, Billy Divers and Mike Johnson; and his great grandmother Lilian Pearson. 

Anthony is survived by his son, Aiden Recore; his Mom and Dad, Alisha Mendenhall Garrity and Eddie Johnson; his siblings, Sheila Mendenhall, Quinnten (Jennifer) Spradlin, Chasity (Christopher) Leal, Tyler (Kevin) Arcangeli, Justice (Clayton) Cannon, and Joshua Johnson; his nieces and nephews, Jacob, Eli, Lila, Manuel, Maleigha, Miguel, Tilley, Charlie, Hayden, Jax, and Selena; his aunts, Lily Mendenhall, Rebecca Blackerby, Michelle McCool, Denise Phillips Blakely, Barbara (Jeff) Johnson Arp, and Debbie Divers; his uncle, Joe (Amber) Johnson; and honorary mention, Dominque and Blake Gonzalez; as well as honorary mentions, Michell, Anthony, Molly, Sammy and Luke Little, Cadell Hall, and Eddie Ortiz. 

A funeral service to honor Anthony will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 4:00 PM at Watson-Milton Funeral Home, Trenton. Family will receive friends for a visitation one hour prior to the service at 3:00 PM. Anthony will be laid to rest privately.
