Obituary

Albert Fredrick Floyd, Jr., 79, of High Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, in Gainesville, Florida. Albert lived a life defined by hard work and determination.

Albert married Irene (Cannon) Floyd on November 25th 1969. Together they built a life rooted in love sharing more than four decades of marriage. Some of their happiest days were spent on the water. Whether they were bass fishing or boating, those simple moments became treasured memories.

He spent his career behind the wheel, doing what he loved most. A lifelong truck driver, he fulfilled his dream of owning and operating his own trucking company.

Trucking wasn’t simply his occupation—it was his passion. He could wake up in the middle of his sleep and tell you exactly where each truck was. Through countless miles traveled he built not only a successful business but also a reputation for reliability. He had an unwavering dedication to his beloved customers.

When he wasn’t on the road, Albert loved watching sports. He especially looked forward to the fall when SEC college football came around . Of course, he was a Gator through and through.

Albert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene (Cannon) Floyd; his parents, Albert F. Floyd, Sr. and Ada “Lu” Floyd Rowland; his son, Todd Floyd; and his brother, Doran Floyd.

He leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory: his daughters, Sheree Lewis and Robin M. Floyd; his sister, Linda Gail Philman (Keith); his grandchildren, Zachary Lewis (Brooke), Alysha Bruner (Logan), and Easton-Luke Floyd; his great-grandchildren, Amy and Aubrey; his nephew & nieces, Kelly J. Philman (Rachelle); Krystal L. Philman Holley (Todd); Chris Cannon (Kristi), Glen Cannon (Amber), and Glen Willis; Michael (Joni) Smith, Brian Smith; his mother-in-law, Caris Cannon; his sister-in-law, Debra Schlaf; and many other dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

A memorial service to honor Albert will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 5:00 PM, at Watson Milton Funeral Home. Family will receive friends for a visitation at 4:00 PM. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Watson-Milton Funeral Home, Trenton. (352) 463-8888 www.WatsonMilton.com
